How does registration work? What`s the difference between the basic charge and course fee? How does payment work? How do I cancel my courses? What can I do in the event of an injury? You will find the answers to these and many more questions in the following paragraphs. If you still have questions, please don’t hesitate to write to us: hochschulsport@uni-bayreuth.de

RegistrationHide

Mandatory registration is carried out online on our homepage. You can find the registration button on the corresponding course site below the course descriptions. Sign up for our mailing list to receive information on free offers without mandatory registration. You will also receive updates regarding cancellations, etc.

Once a course has been fully booked, it is closed for registration, however you can be placed on a waiting list so that we can contact you if a spot frees up. During online registration you will need to enter personal data that is necessary for course administration. The data is processed for that purpose only. Misrepresentation of personal data will result in exclusion from the course and possibly in additional payments and/or in exclusion from all University Sport courses.

ParticipationHide

All students of the University of Bayreuth are eligible to participate in University Sport courses. For students and staff of the University of Bayreuth, the validated UBT Campus Card serves as authorization to participate in sport courses. Payment of the basic fee (see below) is carried out exclusively at the validation machine on the ground floor of the Central University Administration (ZUV). Renewing validation is possible at every validation machine on campus.

Non-students, who belong to an eligible group (i.e. members of Universitätsverein, relatives of employees, members of university related alumni communities, members of the international club, students of other universities) have to register in our office prior to participation in University Sport courses.

You can pay the basic fee during the opening hours:

  • Monday, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. (Jan Grönewald)
  • Wednesday, 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. (Jan Grönewald)
  • Thursday, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. (Miriam Bartl)

You will have to present your authorization to participate in University Sport and your current account data.

Fees and PaymentHide

Basic fee:

  • Students: 15 € (payable with UBT Campus Card)
  • Staff: 20 € (payable with UBT Campus Card)
  • External members: 25 € (payable with UBT Campus Card)

With the payment of the basic fee, courses that are free or registration-free can be attended during the period in question. For certain courses (especially game sports) a free but binding (!) registration is necessary in advance.

Please note: Keep the purchase slip in your own interest in order to have proof of payment in case you lose your card. Authorization to participate is regularly checked! Payment and validation is only possible for your own card! In case of problems or loss of the card, please contact the following mail address: chipkarte@uvw.uni-bayreuth.de

Course Fee:

For individual courses, separate registration with an additional course fee is required. In order to participate in these offers, you will have to drop your signed original debit mandate generated by the system in the mailbox opposite to the vending machines/seats at the Department of Sport Science within five days or submit it to Ms. Bartl or Mr. Steuer.

Payment/SEPA-Debit Mandate:

Since 1 October 2014, the University of Bayreuth has been using the new SEPA direct debiting system. IBAN and BIC are requested during this procedure. After your online application, you will automatically receive the SEPA Debit Mandate with the credentials and the creditor ID of the University of Bayreuth in addition to the confirmation of your booking to the email address you provide. Please hand in the signed hard copy of the SEPA Debit Mandate (Hochschulport of the University of Bayreuth, Institute of Sports Science, Universitätsstraße 30, 95440 Bayreuth, Office 1.14 or 1.10 or mailbox opposite to the vending machines/seats at the Institute of Sports Science).

In the event of an unsucessful withdrawal procedure due to incorrect bank data, insufficient funds, or refusal of the direct debit, the University of Bayreuth reserves the right to charge an administration fee of 10€ per debit attempt.

Withdrawal and RefundHide

Withdrawal is divided into three stages:

  • Within 14 days of the booking date, the participant can withdraw from the course free of charge
  • After the expiration of the 14-day period, a service fee of 10€ will be charged in case of withdrawal (also in case of illness)
  • Once half of the courses have taken place, withdrawal is no longer possible.
Accountability and InsuranceHide

Accident insurance

Students enrolled at the University of Bayreuth are insured against accidents at official events of University Sport, including the official competition events. There is no statutory accident insurance coverage in the case of free exercise. Non-student participants are advised to review and upgrade their private insurance coverage accordingly.
